Client Problem

Magnachip Semiconductor (hereinafter referred to as "Magnachip") is a company that designs and manufactures analog and mixed-signal semiconductors for applications in communications, IoT, home appliances, industrial, and automotive sectors. Magnachip is recognized for its advanced technological capabilities in engineering, design, and manufacturing processes, making it one of the leading companies in the domestic semiconductor industry. It is also the first company in Korea to be directly listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Magnachip possesses a variety of technologies that enhance the performance of electronic products while reducing their size and power consumption, holding or applying for approximately 1,150 patents. With such a diverse and unique set of technologies, the company is particularly sensitive to data leaks and continues to invest heavily in security measures to prevent information leakage.

SecuLayer Solution

In addition to managing various threat factors mentioned earlier, Magnachip was looking for a system that would facilitate the deployment and operation of a large-scale IT environment. Specifically, it required a system capable of collecting tens of GB of logs daily and retaining and searching logs for over a year.

After reviewing products from several security-related companies that responded to the request for proposals, Magnachip identified SecuLayer's eyeCloudXOAR as a candidate, as it met most of the functional requirements and had a proven track record in establishing large-scale IT environments. Ultimately, the product was selected through a presentation by a SecuLayer representative.

Deployment Effect

- Identification of the respective user for all system data and operational activities
- Derivation of anomaly detection scenarios through business analysis and consultation
- SeQL, which allows for various event configuration features and highly detailed detection patterns
- Visualization of event occurrence history by user
