Securayer Files Patent in the Medical Data Sector

Securayer (CEO Jeon Joo-ho) is expanding its scope by filing a patent related to the medical data field. On the 5th, Securayer announced that it has filed a patent for technology related to anomaly detection models that assist in the interpretation of digital pathology medical images. This patent includes core technology that supports the classification of normal/abnormal by training artificial intelligence on digital pathology data Whole Slide Imaging (WSI). Notably, when using this patented technology, it is characterized by outputting accurate results with a small computational load through an efficient preprocessing process. Securayer utilized a Backbone model commonly used in the field of computer vision to preprocess WSI data, which has an image size of 764,000*183,759. Additionally, by applying XAI (eXplainable Artificial Intelligence) to the anomaly detection model, the accuracy of anomaly detection was increased to over 98%, and the time required for pathology medical image interpretation was reduced by about 30% compared to previous methods. A representative from Securayer stated, “By utilizing this patented technology, we can automate the digital pathology medical image interpretation process based on AI, supporting quick and accurate decision-making,” and added, “We will continue to strive for technology development that contributes to reducing non-clinical trial R&D costs and shortening timelines by researching various medical domains.” Meanwhile, this patent was filed as part of the 'SW Computing Industry Source Technology Development Project (2020-0-00107)' supported by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP).
