Sikurayer files two patents related to XAI... Accelerating the paradigm shift in new technologies

Sikurayer has identified explainable artificial intelligence (eXplainable AI, XAI) as a technology that will reshape the landscape of the next-generation technology market, and has consecutively filed related patents to accelerate innovation for a paradigm shift in new technologies. Executive Director Yoo Jin-sang stated, “The ethical issues surrounding artificial intelligence are a well-known 'hot potato'” and emphasized that “as technology rapidly advances, the ethical problems and market regulations that arise also depend on technological solutions.” He further added, “XAI is a technology that ensures ethics and transparency,” stating that “only companies that actively establish ethical mechanisms through technologies like XAI will be chosen by the market.” Sikurayer has been forming a development team for XAI technology since several years ago and has secured related patents. The characteristic of Sikurayer's developed XAI technology is the expansion of the dataset to which XAI can be applied, ranging from text to video and images. The two patents filed this time include technologies that apply XAI to image data and text data to ensure transparency and reliability. Sikurayer explained that they have increased transparency and reliability by analyzing the impact of various contribution degrees, such as how changes in feature values of the data contribute to model predictions. Additionally, they have emphasized visualization technology that enhances user convenience by implementing XAI technology with a user-friendly UI/UX, such as masking pixels with high contribution. Sikurayer is committed to providing open-source technologies developed in-house, from XAI to AutoML, through its website ‘AutoAPE’. The open-source can be used by anyone who submits a usage application after signing up as a member. Executive Director Yoo stated, “As Sikurayer holds the key to technological capability, we strive to pursue technological innovation while fostering an ecosystem that upholds ethical values,” and requested, “We ask for your interest and contributions to Sikurayer's core technologies shared as open-source.” Meanwhile, this patent was filed and registered as part of the 'SW Computing Industry Source Technology Development Project (2020-0-00107)' supported by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP).
