Securayer Partners with KISA for Technology Transfer... Strengthening K-Cybersecurity Capabilities

Securayer announced on the 22nd that it has signed a technology transfer agreement with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). The transferred technology was developed as part of a core technology development project for information security supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP). The project titled 'Development of AI and Big Data-based Cybersecurity Orchestration and Automated Response Technology (2021-0-00358)' aims to automate all operational processes within security monitoring centers and to automatically classify and respond to suspected large-scale cyber threats.

Kim Geon-woo, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Securayer, stated, “Receiving the technology developed through years of joint research with KISA will serve as a model case for mutual cooperation between industry and academia,” and emphasized, “By establishing a 'technology'-focused cooperation system, we will break down the boundaries between industry and research fields and enhance our technological competitiveness.”

The transferred technologies include a total of nine modules: △A supervised learning-based cyber attack family prediction module using heterogeneous security events △An automated generation module for security monitoring playbook templates based on response history △An internal threat asset identification module △An AI-based module for identifying and normalizing field names of unstructured raw data from security devices △A module for prioritizing security monitoring events based on response history.

Securayer stated that it will apply the transferred technology to its Korean-style Security Orchestration Automation and Response solution (SOAR), eyeCloudXOAR, and push for commercialization. eyeCloudXOAR has been delivered to various public and private institutions and companies, including the National Information Resources Management Institute (NIRS), KISA, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and has been recognized for its technological and commercial viability.

Kim Geon-woo, CTO of Securayer, said, “Securayer has been continuously developing cybersecurity orchestration and automated response technologies based on artificial intelligence and big data,” and added, “We will continue to lead the advancement of SOAR technology and strengthen K-cybersecurity through joint research with KISA.”
